Overview of Responsibilities:

To assist with the execution of complicated oil and gas and petrochemical projects in Saudi Arabia, a major worldwide contractor is looking for a skilled Instrumentation Engineer. The position entails thorough engineering assessment, on-site monitoring, and technical coordination of all instrumentation and control systems.

Primary Duties:

Analyze and comprehend data sheets, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, P&IDs, and instrumentation design plans.

Oversee and evaluate the installation, testing, calibration, and commissioning of field instruments, analyzers, control valves, and DCS/PLC systems.

Make sure you adhere to international and project-specific regulations, such as ISA, IEC, API, and NEC.

Back up procurement activities by analyzing vendor papers, technical bid evaluations, and interface coordination.

Help with the creation and assessment of material submissions, method statements, and ITBs for instrumentation tasks.

During pre-commissioning and commissioning, do loop checks, functional testing, interlock verification, and control system troubleshooting.

Verify that all paperwork, calibration certificates, test results, and as-built drawings are produced correctly.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address technical challenges and guarantee the prompt delivery of the I&C scope.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

Basic Needs:

A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or instrumentation.

10 years of expertise in instrumentation and control engineering, preferably in the oil and gas or refinery industries.

A solid understanding of process automation, fire and gas systems, field instrumentation, and control systems.

Able to read loop schematics, hookup diagrams, and instrument data sheets with ease.

Comprehensive understanding of pertinent industry standards and regulations (ISA, IEC, API, etc.).

  • Must take ownership of their work and be able to manage the process from sourcing to supply.
  • Support is provided, but the candidate must be self-driven and responsible for their tasks.
  • Receive product requirements from clients and quote on the products requested.
  • If the quote is successful, supply the products to the mines or oil and gas clients that ordered them.
  • Products range from Caterpillar tracks for large earth-moving equipment, to tools, foodstuff, and hardware like cable ties, rope, chain, etc.
  • Orders can be diverse — examples include bicycles for a mine and 500,000 cable ties.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s degree
  • Well-spoken and fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Sales driven and able to “think outside the box” to reach out to new suppliers to fill client product orders.
  • Some sales experience is needed to help in the role.
  • Comfortable in a light and friendly office environment where the occasional rough joke or swearing may occur — must not be a “dandelion” that is easily offended.
  • Computer literacy is paramount.
  • Attention to detail is crucial, as getting the order wrong or quoting the wrong amount has massive consequences.

To carry out electrical diagnostics, repairs, installations, and maintenance on automobiles and mobile machinery utilized in a petrochemical facility. This covers making sure that all tasks are performed in a manner that is safe and consistent with the norms and laws governing the petrochemical sector.

Responsibilities & Duties

Identify and fix electrical problems on a range of cars and mobile plant machinery (such as trucks, cranes, forklifts, tankers).

Red Seal is a recognized trade certification for qualified auto electricians.

At least three to five years of experience in automotive electrical systems, ideally in a petrochemical or industrial setting.

Understanding of hazardous location compliance and Ex-rated equipment (advantageous).

knowledge of authorization-to-work systems and petrochemical facility safety regulations.

A valid driver's license (a Heavy Vehicle license may be an advantage).

Basic knowledge of mechanical systems.

Abilities and skills:

Excellent aptitude for finding and diagnosing faults.

Capacity to operate effectively and autonomously in dangerous circumstances.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Telemetry or PLC system knowledge is beneficial.

Understanding of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) rules and procedures for maintaining workplace safety.

Exposure to hazardous industrial conditions, such as high temperatures, noise, dust, and flammable materials.

Must be willing to labor in restricted areas, at heights, or in dangerous settings while adhering to stringent safety procedures.

It might be necessary to perform standby duty or work shifts.

It is required to follow stringent safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
