The mission of the Road Accident Fund is to actively encourage the safe use of our roads, provide adequate coverage to all road users within South Africa's borders, and promptly and compassionately rehabilitate and compensate those who have been hurt in motor vehicle accidents.
This is a 3-Year Fixed Term Contract (Re-advertisement), please be aware.
Job Objective: The Attorney for the Royal Air Force All High Court business within the Fund falls under the purview of the High Court, which is also in charge of providing related litigation services. In addition to other tax services, this position will also be accountable for providing tax bill of costs that comply with South African legislation and regulations.
Key Performance Indicators
Policy Review and Execution
Assist in the creation and execution of departmental rules, procedures, and processes.
Maintain current knowledge of best practices and effective policy implementation tactics.
Conducting Research and Planning for Similar Cases
Carry out research that will give data in advance of all trial procedures.
For directions and documentation for cases to be brought before the Court, speak with client departments/representatives and witnesses.
Create pleadings that demonstrate a specific viewpoint on the case and offer a clear rationale or justification for it.
The Mediation Procedure
All necessary actions pertaining to the mediation procedure, as regulated by the amendment to the rules of court, must be followed.
When the mediation is over, the parties must notify the Registrar and all other parties via notice that Mediation is complete.
Within five days of the conclusion of mediation, the parties and the mediator must publish a joint minute outlining the outcome.
On all third-party claims related to legal proceedings, act as the Road Accident Fund's representative.
Represent the courts in all assigned third-party litigation cases.
From the start to the end of a legal case, including following trial dates, make sure the file is managed.

To guarantee compliance, coordinate administrative legal measures.
Give instructions on how to select and teach expert witnesses.
Prior to trial, resolve any issues that aren't contentious.

Taxation
Provide a comprehensive array of tax services that adhere to all applicable rules and legislation.
Establish relationships and engage with clients to offer tax services advice and knowledge.
Give cutting-edge tax advice and assess complicated income tax returns.
Reporting
Provide progress updates and/or advise management decisions by preparing and submitting regulatory reports as necessary.
Guide the process by aligning the reports, policies, and procedures with the overarching RAF Strategy.
Create usable reporting systems for project, management, or performance reports.
Give management information verbally and in report form, and prepare reports, briefs, presentations, suggestions, and other materials.
Stakeholder Management
Proactively and progressively manage interactions with pertinent internal and external stakeholders in relation to investments, and facilitate and handle this communication.
Manage interactions with suppliers, service providers, or procurement teams, and make sure that every purchased item is invoiced and paid for in a timely manner.

Requirements
A bachelor's degree in law or its equivalent.
A graduate degree in law or its equivalent.
acceptance as an attorney of the High Court or an advocate.
The right to appear in the High Court.
Experience
5–7 years of relevant legal experience after graduation or admission, with at least two years focusing on the field of personal injury litigation.
