Job Description
For their Crescant Corner location, Dis-Chem Pharmacies need the expertise of a well-known Post Basic Qualify Pharmacist Assistant. Your portfolio will encompass the delivery of pharmaceutical care by assuming responsibility for the patient's medication-related needs and being held accountable for addressing them.
Requirements at a minimum:
Matric or Grade 12
Fundamental qualification for assisting pharmacists
Enrolled with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
Unisolv experience
MS Office - proficient with computers
excellent numeracy
a thorough understanding of the English language and a second language
Retail hours are acceptable.
Beneficial:
Familiarity with the functioning of the retail and FMCG industries
third further language
Expertise in SAP and E-Scripting
supplementary medicine, family planning, and narcotics
Responsibilities and Obligations:
Help sell scheduled chemicals or Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medications.
Help in the compounding, manipulation, or preparation of a non-sterile drug or scheduled substance in accordance with a formula and standard operating procedures authorized by the responsible pharmacist.
Help make a regulated substance or non-sterile medication in accordance with a formula and standard operating procedures that have been authorized by the pharmacist in charge.
Help repackage medication
Help with the distribution and management of the inventory of scheduled drugs or substances listed under Schedules 1 through 5.
In accordance with the order of someone who is permitted under the Medicines Act to buy or acquire such medication or scheduled substance, help with the ordering of medication and scheduled substances up to and including Schedule 6.
Following the pharmacist's interpretation and assessment of the prescription, help with the reading and preparation of a prescription, the selection, manipulation, or compounding of the medication, and the labeling and dispensing of the medication in the right container.
According to the SAPC, scripts must be correctly interpreted, and behavior must be professional, ethical, and consistent with the law.
Verify patient information on the system and accurately capture the details of the script.
Be knowledgeable about common dosages and key drug interactions, and make sure that your medication is correctly selected, packaged, labeled, and inspected.
Provide patients with precise guidelines on how to take the medications they are given.
Keep up-to-date on developments in the rules and procedures governing medical assistance claims and distribution.
Make sure a pharmacist checks and signs all prescriptions for correctness.
Provide guidance and support to patients in the dispensary, at the front counter, and with self-medication.
As directed by the dispensary manager, monitor the script tracking report and keep track of appointments.
Inform patients of the price of medical care
Provide people with information to help them improve their health.
Make sure all paperwork needed for the precise filing of claims to medical aids is completed.
fix errors on scripts that were denied by medical help
Make sure that chronic, HIV, AIDS, and cancer treatments are approved.
Keep customer profiles on the system.
Notify UCS to combine profiles centrally after combining profiles locally.
Pay attention to any message in the customer profile and respond appropriately.
To the dispensary manager, report any stock problems or shortages.
Get dispensary inventory in accordance with Dis-Chem's SOPs, and market products according to the FEFO model
