At our Cape Town site, which operates as FlySafair, Safair Operations has an opening for a Certified Aviation Technician (Avionics) - Flight Line. The Crew Chief – Flight Line will be the person to whom the winning candidate reports.
Overview of the Position
Carry out inspections of the lines' upkeep.
Perform regular inspections of the aircraft's several mechanical systems;
Make a fault finding and fix it in accordance with the fault.
carry out Pre-Flight operations, such as weekly service checks, and Line transit;
Conduct daily thorough inspections of the plane to find any possible problems or flaws.
Perform essential maintenance duties to guarantee the plane is in good condition for flying;
Follow accepted safety guidelines and maintenance methods;
In compliance with SACAA regulations, all activities must be accurately documented and signed off, guaranteeing adherence to all legal requirements;
To maintain the safety of individuals and other personnel, fire and accident/incident prevention, health and safety regulations must always be followed.
Before commencing any job, make sure that the work area, tools, and equipment are well-maintained and safe in order to avoid any mishaps or occurrences involving staff and aircraft.
Keep up the best possible level of inspection quality and standards;
Use analytical reasoning and troubleshooting methods to pinpoint underlying causes and implement successful remedies;
To ensure a seamless workflow and the prompt completion of maintenance activities, communicate effectively and professionally.
Job Requirements
Twelve or more years of education.
A SACAA W1, W2, W3 License is required for licensed AME (Essential);
Compass Swing (Beneficial);
Finished the CFM 56-3C1 and -7B series engines courses as well as the B737-400 and 800 avionics and airframe series;
A SACAA W & X License is held by this licensed AME.
Certified on CFM and B737; 400/800 airframe series;
At least five years of experience in the aviation sector.
Experience with SVM or lines;
Prior experience with B737, 400, and 800 (Essential) 56-3C1 and 7B series engines;
a willingness to work on shifts, weekends, and holidays;
Must be ready and able to travel anywhere, both domestically and abroad, on a moment's notice;
Possession of a current South African passport.
proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
a solid grasp of technical aircraft publications and documentation;
Maintain a thorough knowledge of aviation legislation and safety regulations;
A solid grasp of the Avionics Schematic systems;
Expertise in troubleshooting and comprehensive understanding of the B737/400/800.
