There is an open position at our Cape Town facility for a Senior Certified Aviation Technician (Mechanical) - Flight Line, who works for Safair Operations under the name FlySafair. The chosen candidate will answer to the Crew Chief – Flight Line.
Job Description
- Necessary to carry out a range of SMV/Flight line responsibilities, such as:
- carry out line maintenance inspections;
- Make sure the inspections conducted before, after, and during transit include quality control.
- carrying out regular and unusual aircraft inspections and maintenance to guarantee adherence to the highest safety and operational requirements;
- Perform regular inspections on the aircraft's many mechanical systems;
- Identify and fix faults based on their nature;
- Carry out A-checks, which include weekly service inspections;
- Do extensive aircraft inspections every day to find any possible problems or flaws.
- carry out essential maintenance duties to guarantee the plane is safe to fly;
- comply with accepted safety regulations and maintenance practices;
- To ensure adherence to all necessary legal criteria, all operations must be accurately recorded and signed off in accordance with SACAA regulations;
-To ensure the safety of individuals and other employees, as well as to prevent fires, accidents, and incidents, health and safety regulations must always be followed.
- Prior to beginning any task, make sure that the workspace, machinery, and tools are well maintained and safe in order to avoid accidents or incidents involving personnel and aircraft;
- Keep the quality and standard of inspections as high as possible;
- Utilize troubleshooting strategies and analytical reasoning to pinpoint underlying causes and put practical solutions into action;
- Maintain open and professional communication to guarantee a smooth workflow and prompt execution of maintenance duties.
Job Requirements
-At least twelfth grade or the equivalent.
- At least fifteen years of experience in the aviation industry;
- Experience with SVM and line;
- Previous expertise working with B737-400 and 800 models;
- Certified AME with a SACAA A & C License on B737; 300/400/500/800;
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and shifts;
- Must be willing and accessible to travel at a moment's notice, both locally and globally;
- Possession of a valid South African passport.
