LABORATORY ASSISTANT

There is an opening for a Laboratory Assistant to join the staff at our Tokai location in Cape Town. We are looking for someone who consistently aligns with the PathCare values and demonstrates a high level of honesty and integrity.

Requirements for Essential Competencies

12th grade (Matric)

Registered with the HPCSA as a certified Laboratory Assistant in Clinical Pathology

Knows how to use a computer

Pertinent experience in a hectic specimen reception area

It helps to have expertise in dealing with tough questions.

It's beneficial to have experience sending and receiving samples using Meditech shipping batches.

Having experience handling on hold lists and incomplete reports is beneficial.

Having expertise giving telephonic results is beneficial.

Superior attention to detail and a client-centric approach

Demonstrate initiative and the capacity to solve problems.

The ability to work under pressure, both alone and as part of a team, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

An optimistic outlook and flexible work style

A strong commitment to excellence

capacity to work alone in the lab

Must have a solid grasp of Afrikaans and be fluent in English.

Must be willing to work on weekends, holidays, and shifts.

Must possess a satisfactory history/performance record pertaining to the necessary technical and behavioral skills

Maintain acceptable TAT and distribute specimens

Sample preparation

Managing queries

Sending samples to reference labs
