Job Objectives
Keep track of debtors' accounts in accordance with agreements and in compliance with credit management rules and procedures to reduce bad debt.
Key Duties
Manage the debtors book in accordance with agreed terms and set Accounts Receivables regulations and processes.
Follow up on past-due accounts to lower debtors' DSO and reach established goals.
Prepare and submit reports on overdue and term accounts.
Collect unpaid bills on time and according to the agreed payment conditions.
Perform a precise reconciliation between the accounts of customers and debtors.
Issue release orders for restricted accounts in accordance with delegation of authority and permission.
Prepare requests for credit/debit, refunds, and discounts, and include the necessary documentation.
Compute monthly refunds, rebates, settlement discounts, and credits/debits.
According to the agreed-upon credit policy, process monthly interest charges on defaulting clients.
Distribute payments properly.
Be familiar with the export debtor's world, which includes foreign exchange transactions, the letter of credit procedure, and advance payments.
Speak with clients both within and outside the company
On invoices, address customer questions, and keep system records. As necessary, support internal and external auditors.
Adhere to laws, credit regulations, International Accounting Standards (IAS), the provisions of SOX control, the relevant statutory requirements of IFRS, the Companies Act, and the NCA.
Implement evidence-based SHE practices in accordance with established norms for safe operations.
Put into practice the enterprise risk management framework and risk strategy of the Sasol Group.
In order to facilitate successful debt collection and lower debtors' DSO, establish and keep positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Complete, implement, and monitor personal development plan to meet personal performance objectives. Maintain ongoing professional growth and learning.
Formal Education
National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
A National Diploma or B-Degree in a finance-related subject will be a plus.
Work Experience
Experience: at least three years of applicable experience
