Minimum Needs:
National Diploma in Logistics, Public Administration, and Transport Management.
Acceptable driver's permit.
Understanding of reporting procedures, fleet monitoring coordination, and administrative systems.
two years of expertise in administrative and/or fleet support functions in a service delivery municipal environment
Key Duties:
Record and log every request for fleet maintenance or breakdown made by depot managers.
Arrange for unique workshop visits for inspections.
Keep an up-to-date register of all vehicles in the division, including their depot assignment, mileage, and maintenance condition.
Report any irregularities, missing cars, or inconsistencies in the register to the fleet manager.
compile reports on vehicles with a high rate of breakdown or significant mechanical issues.
Keep a status tracker of vehicles that have been recommended or approved for decommissioning.
For audit preparation, keep delivery paperwork and commissioning checklists on file and archived.
To depots, disseminate revised standard operating procedures (SOPs) pertaining to the fleet, such as protocols for fuel use, inspections, and breakdown reporting.
Keep a record of depot personnel's log accident reports.
Keep all incident documentation in a safe and well-organized archive.
Inform forepersons and depot managers about planned maintenance and return dates.
Make monthly and quarterly summaries of the fleet's performance.
