Essential Requirements

• Valid code EB driver's license with the ability to pass Rand Water K53 test. • 3 years of experience in the horticultural/environmental industry. • Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or similar NQF Level 4.

Main Responsibilities

• All tasks expected of the gardener, including the operation of specialized machinery and equipment (maintenance and equipment) • Designated areas of recreational facilities, such as bowling green, cricket pitches, golf course, and other outdoor sports facilities • Marking and laying out of recreational facilities • Asset management (stock take) • Installation and repair of irrigation equipment • Application of fertilizer • Chemical application • Leadership of staff assigned to the incumbent and providing clear instructions • Feeding, cleaning, and watering of indoor plants • Minor landscape construction and maintenance • Specialized garden upkeep

Information

• Fundamental understanding of SHE in all connected activities • Simple plant identification • Simple irrigation system setup • Familiarity with hand tools
