Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Organise/coordinates
resources and priorities/ allocates / communicates tasks to achieve
desired work output/targets.
- Ensures
maintenance contractors and colleagues understand the performance outcomes
and standards. Trains/ ensures that users are properly trained to ensure
optimal productivity.
- Monitors
progress on allocated work and takes timeous corrective action (where
necessary).
- Comply
with company policies and procedures in the execution of Superior review
delegated responsibilities and duties.
- Identifies
and reports performance problems and misconduct (user) to the relevant TCC
manager.
- Ensures
users have access to the required standard.
- Report
and non-conformance to the TCC and direct line manager.
- Checks
and maintains data feed & recovery from the NATIS system.
- Check
and ensure the optimal use of electricity i.r.o IT & maintenance.
- Report
any system problems as soon as possible to direct supervisor and TCC
Manager.
- Regularly
follow up on all RFS’s with relevant service providers & report any
non-conformance(s) to LCC Operations manager.
- Investigate
any irregular situations where required maintenance may have been
necessitated by suspect activity and/or negligence.
- Communicate
with the service providers in respect of task finalisation and/or issues
arising.
- Liaise
with computer service providers/ other contractors i.r.o maintaining
operations.
- Ensures
that all equipment comply with legal requirements and are maintained in
terms of company’s operational procedures.
- Inspect
traffic control centre and associated facilities, including buildings and
equipment, e.g., control systems, scale, and infrastructure in terms of
agreed maintenance guidelines.
- Identify
possible areas that will require maintenance or replacement to prevent
unexpected equipment failure.
- Ensure
all equipment comply with safety/health programme.
- Attend
meetings with immediate supervisor as and when required.
- Support
overall HR & financial management function.
- Provide
second line support to TCC junior technicians and overall management of
the TCC technicians daily duties.
- Advise
on any possible change of operations due to system defectiveness.
- Attend
to system faults as entered the Fault Notification Book
- Complete
any administrative task, or any other work assigned from time to time.
- Take
responsibility for system training, mentoring, coaching and skills
transfer.
- Daily
and weekly backups according to system engineers’ specifications
- Ensure
all systems (TRAFMAN, VMC, CCTV Monitoring systems) are virus free.
- Configuration
of IP addresses on the systems as well as maintaining IP address lists
- Maintenance
of the WAN / LAN / Wi-Fi connections
Desired Experience & Qualification
Employment Specification
- Minimum
Grade 12 Certificate
- ICT,
Computer/Software systems or Electronics or Electrical or Mechanical or
Industrial systems
- A+
and N+ Certification (requirement)
- At
least five (5) years IT related experience
- Experience
in Electrical Fault finding, troubleshooting and remote assistance.
- Valid
Unendorsed Code 08 Drivers License
- Certificate
of medical fitness.
